WEEE and RoHS Scope Guide

A practical guide to understanding the scope of Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment(WEEE)and DIirective 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in EEE (ROHS). This guide has been drafted by a special working group set up by Orgalime and European Sector Associations in the electrical and electronic and telecommunication industries (including the ICT industry, white and brown goods, lighting, cables, etc…) representing nearly the complete range of products falling under the scope of the WEEE and RoHS Directives. The guide aims to help authorities and producers to determine more precisely the scope of these two directives by providing interpretations, criteria and decision trees that help the reader to determine whether products falling in “grey areas” do actually fall within the scope of these directives or not.
